New lens - 45mm f/1.8

Got a new lens today, the M.Zuiko 45mm f/1.8. Tiny and very nice. I really shouldn't have! I had a quick try with it today but need to do more to get used to it.

 All photos were taken at f/1.8 (wide open) or close - to get minimum depth of field, just for a try. Not great compositions but these are the first day attempts in the garden, almost straight after opening the box. Nice lens. I like it. No processing on any of the pictures except a little cropping on all of them and light sharpening on the last closeup spider picture.

7 I had the great pleasure to see and photograph the Steve Hackett Genesis Revisited concert at De Montfort Hall Leicester 7 Oct 2022 for the Foxtrot at Fifty tour show. It was a special occasion in several ways, not only for me but because it was exactly 50 years and one day since the original Genesis album Foxtrot was released (6 October 1972) and also the venue where the subsequent Genesis Live album was recorded during the subsequent tour on 23 February 1973 (along with Fred Trade Hall Machester the following day). Steve mentioned in the show that the acoustic at De Montfort in Leicester was conducive to the symphonic nature of the music and sounds and he always liked the livecrecordings better than the studio originals for atmosphere. Nasty, aggressive and abusive cold caller 19 July 2022.

 Despite the sign on the front door, illehal cold callers still persist. This one was particularly obnoxious. Did not like an image taken of him. Used threatening behaviour towards me so I dialled the poluce on 999 straight afterwards. They came around quickly and scanned the area but didn't find him. Anyway here he is: Irish accent. 60s. Fascias4u dot co dot uk, so his card said. The cops have his photo. Not that they will take any action. This guy was nasty. Business has threephone numbers and an address that is not listed on the Royal Mail postcode search: 864 Foleshill Road Coventry CV6 6GS. 856 exists. 866 does. Plus 870 and 872, which are shops. There's a yard at the rear of those but no 864 is marked. Beware.
